I've been using a Therm-a-Rest Haven 20 deg. down blanket for the last two seasons with an Exped Synmat UL7 sleeping pad. Works great, quite comfortable down to 30 deg. after that I put on a baselayer. My wife customized it for me, removing the straps, most of the elastic, and sewing the face hole closed. This allows it to be used as a blanket with a footbox without being strapped in. You might also check out Warbonnetoutdoors, they also make down blankets with a foot box. --- In [email protected], "John" <jge@...> wrote: > > > Anyone tried Therm-a-Rest's new line of sleeping bags ? They're kinda like the Big Agnes system, where there's not much insulation on the bottom, so an insulated pad is required to complete the thermal envelope. But instead of using a pad sleeve, they use straps. Apparently they work with wide pads (i.e. 25"), which I require; none of the BA bags that meet my weight/volume requirements work with pads larger than 20". > > John >
