John I use both a sleeping bag (Marmot Plazma) and a Homemade quilt and have not seen any difference in the creepy crawlies between the two. The sleeping bag does have it's advantages in high wind conditions when cowboy camping. BTW- I cowboy camp most of the time when the weather allows. I've only seen pics of the Therm-a-Rest Haven and it appears to me that it would be great for someone who is a back sleeper and stays put all night. But, for the rest of us not so great. As for reviews .... google "Therm-a-Rest Haven reviews"..... there are lots of them (About 22,300 results (0.30 seconds)) 'til later, Jon (Gandalf-PCT class of 2013) Marysville WA Follow my pct hike on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/GandalfPCT2013 Mexico to Canada Follow my written trail journals: http://www.trailjournals.com/Gandalf/ --- In [email protected], "John" <jge@...> wrote: >desert, I am not comfortable with a quilt or blanket, because of wind and creepy crawlies. > > John > > > So, in other words, you've not tried the Therm-a-Rest bag and are just > > stating your personal preferences.right? > > > Jerry > > > > From: [email protected] > > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John > > Sent: Friday, March 22, 2013 12:01 PM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [BackpackingLight] Re: Thermarest bags > > > > I go to the Grand Canyon a lot, and like many backpackers there, I mostly > > sleep out in the open (i.e. no tent).
