Tyvek is only noisy and sliippery when it is new.   Once you 'break it in" a bit, those problems go away.

Before I used my piece of Tyvek, I spread it out in my living room floor and spent about 3 weeks just walkingaround on it.  The worst of the noisiness worked itself out.   By the time I started using it on trips, it ws fine and didn't keep me awake at night whenever I rolled around on it.

I've been using my small piece for several years, now, and it works great.

You also can't beat the "free" price.   Just ask at a construction site where you see them using it.   They just throw it away when they're done with it, anyway.
