[Ebbc-Talk] New bike shop in Oakland

On my commute I recently noticed a small storefront with the name Cosmic Cycles at 5651 San Pablo Ave. in Oakland. This morning I stopped to have a look. It was closed and the sign indicated it opened at 11:00. I looked in the window and saw a good selection of used bikes and a colourful mural on one of the walls. One of the bikes in the window was a 1980's vintage Nishiki road bike with 520 mm (24") front wheel and 622 mm (700c) rear wheel, the same wheel size format Terry has used. Just then a young man showed up on a road bike. It looked like he might know about this shop so I asked him how long it had been around. He said he is the owner, has had the space 3 months but just opened up 2 weeks ago. He said he is only carrying used bikes at the moment but is working on getting some accoun ts for new bikes. He buys used bikes on Craigslist and some people have donated bikes that have been sitting around for years. He refurbishes them. I know first hand it is difficult to make a living in this business so I wished him good luck.
