I've asked hundreds of people two questions: 1. "Think of a time when someone asked you to do something, and you chose not to. What were your reasons for not doing what they asked?" 2. "Think of a time when someone asked you to do something, and you chose to do it. What were your reasons for doing what they asked?" I've posted about a hundred answers to each question in the files area for this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/resistance-as-a-resource/files See the files: reasons-to.txt reasons-not-to.txt What patterns do you see in the "reasons to"? In the "reasons not to"? What similarities and differences do you see between the "reasons to" and "reasons not to"? Or between these reasons and the examples of "resistance" I posted earlier (in the resistance-examples.txt file)? What meanings do you make of these similarities and differences? What significance does all of this have for your change efforts (and for your efforts to resist)?
