Dale invited me. I met Dale on the Impostors forum on Compuserve, I
believe, in 1994. I met him in person at the SEPG'95 conference, which
in retrospect was a very strange place to come across something who is a
genuine thinker about the processes of developing software. He quipped
something in a hallway, that day, which stuck in my head ever since. He
said, "Just because I'm self-employed doesn't mean I always have the
support of top management." Now there's an insight about resistance.

How do I feel about being on another mailing list? I'm worried about
becoming overwhelmed, but at the same time some of the people on this
list are old friends and I appreciate the opportunity to have a little
contact.

I hope to catch an insight or two that I can turn into a valuable asset
in my consulting practice.

I'm an independent software testing consultant and trainer. I'm a member
of the Context-Driven School of test methodology, which believes there
are no such things as best practices. I'm the co-author of Lessons
Learned in Software Testing.

I am a very resistant personality, so I feel strongly about honoring the
resistance I find in my clients. I find that certain kinds of resistance
among my testing students is a sign of engagement, and I've learned how
to put it to use.

I'm a Meyers-Briggs ENFP.
