This is a very good point, IMHO!

It may well be that by finding out why we resist something we find that 
there is a good reason for our resistance. And that our resistance 
"protects" us from something that doesn't go along with our beliefs.
This is good news!
Then we really use resistance as a resource that helps und protects us. 
For me it's part of our intuition. It's about our judgement from 
experience that guides us, even though our concious mind doesn't know 
all the details. And sometimes it's interesting to understand our 
intuition, because that can help us understand ourselves even better.
