See, in this example, I'd say you have resistance to an introverted environment, and that you understand why. In that case, there's no reason to pursue why, you've already got it. You've already arrived at using resistance as a resource. I'd also say that finding the underlying cause to resistance does not by definition entail labelling it a 'problem'. I think that's one of the core bits to Dale's efforts -- to get away from labelling the resistance itself as a good or bad thing so that we can work on getting down to the cause. Or, in my preferred terms, my emotions are amoral -- they are mere reflections of my beliefs.
