Wayne, Your point on loss really struck a chord with me. Sometimes resistance is fear of losing the opportunity to something even better than what is being proposed. It may be fear of losing track of the vision. That's the type of loss that I feel when I'm resisting. One of the important things that I need to figure out is how to make that clear in my resistance. I'd love to know what you think of it after you've read it. I may have told you about the jazz guitar at Change Shop. I'm a big fan of Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons. I haven't played in a long time. Regarding resistance, I recall something you said once. I don't remember where, maybe PSL or Leaders' Forum. But it stuck with me and I have quoted you (with proper credit) on several occasions. You said something like, "People don't fear change so much as they fear loss." I think the fear of loss is a key aspect if not the heart of resistance. If this is true, and I believe it is, one way resistance could be a resource is to alert us to perceived losses. If we explore the perceptions we may find there are some things we definitely don't want to lose (during a change process.) If I remember right, once upon a time you listed "playing jazz guitar" as one of your interests. Am I remembering right? I've been toying with jazz guitar for a few years, and I'm finding that jazz guitar is a very different beast than rock and roll guitar.
