I was born to a middle-class family in the suburbs of Chicago.... ;-

I really learn from Dale's posts and articles, so I try not to miss
them in the sea. I did my first talk on the
Satir change model prior to reading Dale's paper. I then had that
mildly deflating feeling of thinking I was innovating, only to
realize that many had been there before.

The link from Dale's website and the apparent desire to
procrastinate away from doing the financials has me typing at this
moment.

Well, to not face the truth would not be the right start. My first
emotion was disappointment that the members here seem to mostly be
from the XP list (me included!). I was hoping for a more diverse
community.

I am thrilled that the group exists and anxious to see where we take
it.

Well, more non-XPers would have to be first.

I would like to share experiences about people and organization's
change experiences.

I think it would be cool to not be dominated by the "Weinberg
School" of software people thought. GW is incredible, but there is
so much more out there to learn from. I hope to be an influence in
that way.

Well, in a McCarthy Core Protocol check-in sense, I would have to
use sad at the moment (and for quite a while actually). I mention
that because I believe I am resistng something, but have not used
that resistance as a resource to change my situation.

I am not comfortable with newsgroup dialog. I attempt it, but
rarely feel that my points are well communicated. I am much more
comfortable in a dailog setting with a team or class. If this
community figured our how to go beyond-the-list, I believe it would
flourish in great ways.

Thanks Dale and everyone!
