Hi all, I just bought a 81 Rabbit pickup from someone who couldn't get it to run. I had it towed home. I removed the new fuel filter he installed and found no fuel in filter and no fuel in line from tank to filter. I filled up the line from filter end to ip pump and managed to get the engine to start up after few tries. I had to keep foot on the pedal to keep it idling or it will die. No matter how hard I press down on the pedal there was no acceleration, engine will die soon afterward. I tried to fill the fuel line from pump to tank with a small syringe but it doesn't seem to fill it up. I will fill up the fuel filter with diesel before installing it but i wonder how to fill the line to the tank? Question: 1. why engine doesn't accelerate? Is it due to air in the line or bad pump, injector?2. how do i fill up the line from pump to tank. Is there a one way valve preventing the fuel from going back to the tank? 3. is there some kind of pump I can hook up to the out port of fuel filter to suck the diesel from tank? If so where is the best place to get one?4. I live in south Everett, WA anyone knows a good diesel shop I can take it to in case I can not get this baby running? Thanks in advance.Jeremy _______________________________________________ Vwdiesel mailing list [email protected] http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/vwdiesel
