Where does Goldies engine reside. I have a 1981 Rabbit pickup that would be a willing recipient of a donor 1.6 TD engine. I ran a 1.6TD in a 90 Fox and years ago in a Rabbit pickup I installed a 1.6 TD but I sold it to someone in California about 15 years ago. (550,000km) Filthy, but runs like a top. I'll be 82 in July, and am still running an 89 1.6TD, and my old faithful 94 AAZ 1.9 road tripper. Time to downsize. U-pick up in vicinity of Ottawa, Canada (western suburb). History, I found it in a dissolving rabbit nearby, and when cleaning it up for the Goldie transplant, discovered a sticker on the block that said "Re-manufactured by VW Canada" I had a VW tech friend replace all the seals and the clutch plate, and TB, and ran it in Goldie for more than 100,000km. (pushing 100,000 miles). Never missed a beat, and always seemed to be more eager than the original. Faithful oil changes, never burned oil, always passed emissions tests (no smoke), ran on 50% veggie in summer. Would part with some other stuff too, spare injection pumps, A2 & A3, 1 each, some spare axles, A2 & a3, A3 Tranny, other junk. Must clean out the shop.
