Since you are now back on insulin, are you "missing" insulin as a type 2 diabetic?
Most type 2's are not missing insulin, many like myself are insulin resistant.
I have HIGH insulin levels and HIGH blood glucose whether I eat zero carbs or not, though being on the Atkins Diet and in ketosis certainly helps lower blood glucose.
Thus, the allopathic method of prescribing insulin to diabetics who still produce insulin, to create even higher insulin levels in order to drive glucose lower seems an abnormal use of the hormone while it may produce the desired effect.
Guess that Dr. Bernstein 6g carb/day diet doesn't work well in the long run.

It's not allopathy.
It's replacing a missing item.
Allopathy is to do with suppression by opposites.

I also use insulin, and started out with Novolog (synthetic) specifically to avoid the allergic prolems inherent for atopic peope with non-synthetic insulins.
Unfortunately ALL insulins use the same preservative, so that is still a problem.

Needles are way too easy to use to swap for other stuff in my case.
I load a new one with a day's worth of insulin, and use it as needed through the day.
