I've had type 1 for almost 27 years, and because my diabetes is pretty
brittle (which an insulin pump helped a lot), my blood sugar has rarely been
as consistently low as they prefer. Nevertheless, I've shown no signs yet of
even pre-complications.

Extremely tight control CAN actually reverse complications in some people,
which is something that they never believed possible before. But of course
that creates a higher risk of hypoglycemic episodes, which--as Liz
pointed--out can be fatal. And, strangely enough, it can WORSEN
complications in other people.

And I just ran across something which might be very significant in terms of
homeopathic treatment for diabetics. They now suspect--based on the fact
that some diabetics get complications DESPITE tight control--that the
complications could, in some cases, actually be a result of the continuation
of the auto-immune disease process that triggered the diabetes to begin
with, NOT blood sugar levels.

Which just goes to show that, contrary to what allopaths would like to
believe, the disease process is highly individual, without a "one size fits
all" solution. Gee, homeopaths have known that...how long now?
