Remembering the recipe for encouraging hair growth (green mango soaked for 12 months in sesame oil) I stood before a heap of mangoes in the supermarket today ...... the greenest was soft and ripe for eating - I put it back with it's friends and left. It's too cold for mangoes at the moment - I was surprised tho such a green mango being so soft. When I read "green mango" in the recipe I imagined it would be a hard unripe mango. I have never opened a mango to find the stone to be shooting or sprouting - unlike many other fruits I buy or grow - I wonder how difficult it would be to grow from "seed". Meantime I wait for the papayas on the kitchen bench to ripen. And watch the sprouted avocado pips grow into trees on the verandah. Thanks for the links Jane
