Thanks for the suggestion - I think I joined the list just as things
were slowing down, so it's nice to see there's some life in it yet. I
hope traffic will pick up again...

I'm a lecturer in creative industries at Queensland University of
Technology in Brisbane, Australia, and P2PJ is related to my research
interests; I'm currently writing a book on what I call open news -
various approaches to the collaborative researching, editing, and
publishing of news ranging from some of the more traditional and
semi-traditional models like MediaChannel and Slashdot through to more
recent ones like Indymedia and various communal blogs and blog networks.
I'm looking to do some online interviews with some of the key Website
operators over the next few months.

I'm also interested in issues around news syndication and the semantic
Web, which might really help to break the boundaries between Websites,
and in questions of ownership and IP for collaboratively produced
Websites (e.g., who owns a site like Slashdot - its operators or the
users who have contributed 99% of its content ?).

Some more information about my research is available on my Website at

individual research papers); what I'm hoping to find through this list
are some more views on how people who practice it define this idea of
P2P journalism, as well as pointers to innovative new P2PJ approaches -
there's plenty of development happening here, as I'm sure many of you
will know all too well.
