I think it's more sophisticated than that. It means
more like authors given cheap vanity presses (that is,
without editors, fact checkers, advertisers, or other
influences), and readers given the ability to choose
which "raw" source they want to read, although in 
practice they choose some "middle man" like Google 
news or Daypop or Instapundit or Metafilter or whatever.

Although--I suspect--to many people here in practice it
means non-solicitous media. That is, media free from 
advertisers or commerical ownership. But that isn't the
same as peer-to-peer, since p2p is a structural change
that has nothing to do with the bias in the content.

Since I set up that straw man, I feel like knocking it
down in the interests of starting a discussion. Conversely, 
I believe that money will always find a way, and the less 
structure you have, the faster it will find a way, so I'm 
more likely to believe p2p will increase venal reporting,
and thus decrease the quality of our news reporting.
