SS, Thanks for the kick-start!

I had a slightly different definition in mind for peer-to-peer journalism. 

Peer-to-peer, as implemented by file-sharing applications like Napster
is a platform that enables sharing of content and resources.  In
Napster's case, the content was primarily music and the resources
where primarily storage and bandwidth.

So to me the concept of peer-to-peer journalism is about creating a
platform for the sharing of news (our content) and resources.  Unlike
music, news, doesn't have to consume a lot of bandwidth or storage. 
However, it does require a lot of thought and analysis.  So in my
mind, peer-to-peer journalism is about platforms for sharing and
authoring news with a large audience.

Are my thoughts significantly different from the others on this list?

I'd also like to concur with your point regarding the impact of money
and greed on the ideals of peer-to-peer journalism. By definition,
P2Pj has a "low barrier to entry", to borrow a business phrase.  This
means that anyone with the will and resources ($$) can saturate the
p2pj space with their message.  Perhaps this is the issue that we
should discuss and seek resolution for on the P2Pj list.
