For my own use, I would appreciate comments/suggestions from
anyone that uses, or has tried to use, a tablet PC or
convertible laptop for direct handwriting input or a stylus/pad,
for "heavy duty" handwriting recognition in a work environment,
e.g. 8-10 Hrs/day writing interview notes. Alternatively, if you
can point me to comprehensive reviews that answer the below
questions, I would be appreciative.
I am interested in:
1. Whether this technology works as advertised. My research thus
far: 50% for light use only; 50% reliable for heavy use; and
2. If #1 is true for heavy use and if the cost of the
laptop/tablet is NOT part of the equation, is there any
advantage to purchasing a tablet or convertible PC for direct
input vs. conventional laptop with external writing pad/stylus;
and
3. If #1 is true for heavy use, what handwriting recognition
software would you recommend? MS OneNote? Others?
You may contact me directly or post to the list if others are
interested.
Thanks for any helpful comments.
