Anyone here signed up?( Kindle format)

Has anyone here signed up with Amazon to have their titles sold in
Kindle format?

From their contract:

"Payment Terms. All payments will be made in U.S. dollars via
Electronic Funds Transfer ("EFT") payments."

I hesitate to give Amazon access to a checking account, though I think
financial data might be somewhat more secure with Amazon than with
many other large institutions. (Government offices have periodically
leaked personal data in catastrophic proportions.)

"Royalties. ...we will pay you, for each Digital Book we sell, a
royalty equal to thirty-five percent (35%) of the applicable Suggested
Retail Price for such Digital Book, net of refunds, bad debt, and any
taxes charged to a customer (including without limitation sales taxes)..."
-- yet they can set the price regardless what you think it should be.
Only 35%? What bad debt? Whose bad debt? Taxes? Huh? What?

In the late nineties I racked up a few hundred bucks in Amazon's
"Affiliate Commissions" click-through program. I very much haven't
forgotten that when they were through deducting stuff, I received only
$41.37 and lots of stonewalling when I questioned their numbers.
Would commission payments on ebooks be different?
Got my doubts.
My titles are at Mobipocket and Amazon owns it.
I'm wondering why they aren't using that pool of ebooks to kindle
their Kindle's market.
