  I'm seeing an unaccountable gap between the reality of Kindle sales and recent media

  Isn't the problem that no figures have been released, so we don't know either how many they started with, or what their production capacity is.

  And, frankly, with a pre-christmas release, not to have a production facility booked [in case they might sell what they had quickly] so deliveries would be for Christmas, seems inane.

  But chiefly, without figures, neither you nor I nor any commentator can assess if it is a 'success' or not;   and their lack argues a volume that makes the company look daft.
