There may have been a little confusion here because the favorable comment from a Kindle 
owner I cited in my original post in this thread was on the MobileRead forum, which has 
the advantage of not being associated with Amazon.  The unfavorable one from a non-
owner, however, was posted on Amazon.  

BTW, the comments about the Kindle in the MobileRead forums pretty much mirror those 
on Amazon, ranging from highly positive to negative in the extreme, with the former 
generally coming from purchasers and the later from non-purchasers--sophisticated 
ebook enthusiasts aren't any more unanimous in their opinion of it than Amazon 
customers as a whole.
