I haven't been there, but I guess it's possible that, if these authors are dead, they may be 
authors whose works have been republished by Epic or Epic-affiliated publishers as they 
are now public domain.  You know, like all the hundreds of different collections of Sherlock 
Holmes stories you see being sold in department stores and so forth.

I haven't investigated, but it's also possible that they may be limited in some way as to the 
number of titles they can have listed and, since there are so MANY titles available, they are 
reserving their slots for members.

I have no idea, really.
