  Welcome to modern big publishing.    Small publishers [like Tsaba House] do that better too!   But even there the trend is for the authors to be very active in marketing.

  Which introduces another interesting question.    Should we, specially in this sort of discussion, make a distinction between the established major publishers and the small and medium pubishers?
