Re: Our "publish then filter" future...

I run a mailing list for fans of classic detective fiction. We are 
slowly growing in size and I hope that in a year or so we will be able 
to set up or fund our own eBook publishing system to provide us with the 
books we want to read. We have the advantage that we know precisely what 
books we want, and the only problem is making them available, but there 
is no reason why a patronage system of this kind (based on votes?) 
shouldn't work for other groups as well. The Book-of-the-Month club was 
an enormously successful venture in its day.
