Thanks, Liz. Yes, I was aware that Amazon bought Mobipocket along with BookSurge about three years ago., Actually, I think the way it works is that Mobipocket titles continue to reside on Mobipocket and are picked up by Amazon if the publisher as signed a Kindle edition distribution agreement. When I upload new titles to Mobipocket they are (eventually) picked up by the Kindle Store, and when I inactivate titles on Mobipocket eBookBase they're (eventually) removed from the Kindle Store. I know that Kindle edition sales aren't reported in eBookBase, but I haven't checked to see if a Kindle edition sale elevates that title on Mobipocket.com's genre best-selling lists.
