  smilepoet has a problem that ebook-community posts do not take any distinguishing marks with OE [all other lists work as expectred!] ;-).   So, sorry about the confusion but so far using 'JH:' seems the best option.

  And yes, I fully understood you were paraphrasing Elizabeth's points.   I was pointing out that in doing so you had put your subjective views into it.   You have a right to do so, but I was pointing out how this changed the nature of the argument.

  The discussion is very valuable, in my opinion.   I am thinking about how to get the very best out of it by recognising how we each have a view;  that to tease these matters to the most useful conclusions we need to recognise all that so the potentials and possible outcomes can be assessed thoroughly.
