Why buy an Ebook?

They aren't that much cheaper than paperbacks. They aren't as easy too
read. And, in the case of PDF format, they aren't reader friendly.
Also it's hard to give them to a friend to read.

For me, the major consideration is shelf space. Unless you own a
McMantion, books can dominate your home creating a one sided home and
eliminating space for other interests.

Also I see a growing number of releases of out-of-print works that were
hard to find.

That being said, as a reader I like some of the features available in
either the MS Reader and the Mobipocket Reader. But why are they tied
to Windows? Codeweavers' Crossover will not support either from a Linux
operating system. (I suspect Ed Howdersheldt may have solved at least
part of this problem)

So I buy them despite their limitations because I have severely
restricted my shelf space.
