You know Mary, I've already seen a report that Nintendo "*MAY* be looking at adding some sort of e-reading program for the DS Lite. AND, the PlayStation Portable (PSP for those in the know) has also been talked about as adding this feature as well.

The PSP app may come from the "homebrew" community, but, at the very least, there is talk of it. You can currently get comic books on/for the PSP. Not that big a leap to full on e-books, especially if there is some sort of utility to rotate the screen to portrait mode.

It's only about 10% of the class--if that. These are the kids who read so much other students consider them "weird." There is nothing she likes so well as to curl up in bed with a book. But I suspect there are also bunches of other people who aren't crazy over books, but like a good read now and again. Probably in no less percentage than currently--30%-40%. Just my guess though. But her generation is still being acclimated to the paper book. They read online: news, fiction, manga, e
tc. But pleasure reading is still on paper.Replacing pbooks with ebooks has to be done at the juvenile level and I don't see that happening any time soon. Heck we can't even get electronic textbooks! Our kids get back problems at age 9 and require rolling backpacks in 3rd grade because of all the books they must carry.I've said it before and I'll say it again, put ebooks on the GameBoy XYZPDQ (under $99, bulletproof, already in the hands of millions) and in a generation, you'll have a legion of ebook readers.dej----------------------------------------------------------Learn to use Google Analytics to make your web site more effective.Buy my book! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/047017501X/----------------------------------------------------------"I loathe writing.
