Jumping back in the hot water.Offer it in a variety of formats. There is nothing inherently wrong with pdf IMHO, you get to have the book displayed the way you created it/want. For some people, however, they like to have a choice of how it is displayed and don't want to be locked into a set display format. So, offer it in several versions. As a Word document, a text document, as a pdf, the software to convert it to Mobipocket is free from their website. Amazon has a way for you to convert it for the Kindle, also free on their website. You can get the software (free again) to convert it to Microsoft Lit. And there is way to convert it to ePub, although I can't point you to a specific place. eReader has the software necessary for you to convert it to their format although I believe they are currently charging $29.95 USD (why it isn't free like the others I don't really know). You can do just about all of them yourself with a little work and offer them from your site and/or from Amazon/Mobipocket/eReader.Be aware however, Amazon/Mobipocket (and perhaps even eReader) have "standard" publishing fees in effect by going through them (e.g. they keep up to 65% for hosting the book on their site for sale). The main problem with PDFs is the default setting assumes an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper. If someone has an Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader or other e-reading device, it won't display properly, the lettering will be too small as the display on the devices aren't 8 1/2 X 11. There are "white papers" for the Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle and iRex iLiad on how to optimize a PDF for display on t hose type of devices. If you do your homework and create your PDF accordingly, you shouldn't have any complaints from those who choose to purchase the PDF version. The main point is that it's not hard at all to get the book available for sale in a variety of formats.Aaron J. I hope you can help me with my first decision. I am new to ecommerce, I started off selling my book. I have now written an ebook and want to sell it online. I am debating between selling it on my site using clickbank or selling it on Lulu. My site is getting minimal traffic at this point, although I am working hard on it and have a blog going. Also from what I have read here it appears that a "an ebook format" is better then PDF. How can I convert it from MS word to ebook format. Thanks in advance Virginia _________________________________________________________________ Search that pays you back!
