Well, at least we know finally what the book is about ;)

 

Personally, I still wouldn't worry about it. If it you want to make it a
PDF, then by all means do so. Those few souls who want to print it are
certainly able to print it.

 

But please, do just a little research on line to at least prepare it so it
displays better on e-reading devices. 

 

On the screen, it won't matter very much since people can view it however
their PDF program reads PDF's. But anyone using a Sony or Kindle or other
would really appreciate you going the extra mile to make it look as good as
possible on their device.

 

Plus, a book like that really sounds like it would benefit from a paper
printing since it would be something people would travel with.

Thank you one and all for your responses - it certainly clarifies, 
and has changed my understanding of things.

I have only purchased a couple of EBooks and have downloaded the PDF 
version and time consumingly printed out the book within the 
restrictions of 'X' amount of pages a day. Being a newby I am still 
not into this reading off the screen for so much info.

And the benefit percieved by me, and who knows who else... ease of 
purchase. Not only do I not have to go shopping at a book shop but I 
have access to a global library of books & titles that are not 
accessible at any one bookshop.

The underlying reason for my query was that I am in the final stages 
of putting an etiquette travel book on China together. I was 
expecting, until I read these responses, to have a downloadable PDF 
version available on my website - happy that some customers may want 
to download and print it to take on the plane or whereever.... And I 
was willing to forego the inevitable pirated copies that would be 
printed or photocopied.

My concern is, the electronic reader market represents a small 
enough percentage of total readers anyway - I did not want to 
alienate a further group of potential customers by excluding the 
option of print.

Any thoughts/comments/advice...?
