Fair enough - any software that depends on the underlying
hardware actually being a classic palm may have difficulties.
It is still *possible* to create an emulator that creates a
virtualized environment that is seen as correct by even the most
demanding software.

DRM solutions such as ereader's (which, AFAIK, do *not* look into
the underlying hardware) should work just fine. I'm not
completely familiar with every Palm reader out there - but if an
emulator becomes readily available, it should be straightforward
for a reviewer to run existing readers through it quickly and
report on the results.

From my point of view as a purchaser, these are all reasons to
avoid DRM unless it comes with a 90% price discount because of
the inevitable future loss of use. Someone else will have to
review the success of DRM software under such conditions.
