It's my understanding that the publisher in question is not a pirate  
at all. They have the rights to 1984 (and other works) in their  
country. But when Amazon's automated tool grabbed the ebooks for the  
Kindle, it doesn't differentiate between different countries having  
different rights. This is NOT the fault of the publisher, it's a  
weakness in Amazon's software. MOST publishers don't have World Rights  
to the work they publish. Amazon's idiotic software design is opening  
publishers up to some serious litigation.
