;-) I think we have more or less gone round the houses on this and I am not intending to post again on it.

I just wanted to make a terminology point before that. Like all specialisations, law has its own meanings given to words which are, or should be, very tightly drawn.

In law the similar acts are given different terms according to whether they are in criminal or civil law. Thus it is theft in criminal law, but breach or infringement in civil. In moral terms and colloquially both are theft or stealing, in that both are about people taking what does not belong to them.
