FINALLY a NY company trying to do what works in indie-e

Harlequin (but read on, even if you don't do romance) with an all-e line
that is supposedly patterned after indie-e (no DRM, no advance, 30% net
royalty rate, which is the lower end of the indie-e norm)...and with Angela
James as Executive Editor. Worth watching, I think.

To top it... It won't be just the usual HQ fare. With Angela on board, they
are claiming they want to do what works in indie-e (FINALLY!). They will be
taking all manner of commercial fiction (science fiction, horror, mystery,
all manner of romance, sensual romance, erotic romance, and erotica for
women). The only things they don't want are things like non-fiction, poetry,
and YA. I suppose having YA and erotic on the same site was the breaking
point for them. They'll be taking short stories/novellas, category-length,
novels, plus-size novels...the whole shee-bang.
