Stanza reader is stripping out images

Listmates,

I have put a new ebook up on Smashwords, The Profitable Publisher, and  
generally been pleased. I do, however, have a problem with one version  
of the file on one type of reader, and wonder if any of you have  
encountered it and know how to fix it?

Those of you who know me probably expect that it has a number of  
spreadsheets showing exactly how to do the sales estimations and so  
forth that I'm discussing in the text. The only way I've seen to make  
spreadsheets work on all the different hardware, and with all the  
different reader software is to use images.

In the .epub version of the file, the images are showing on many  
readers, including the Adobe Digital Reader, but they're not showing  
in the Stanza (on my Mac). Neither is any of the text formatting  
(bolding, italics, increased font size for headers, that sort of  
minimal stuff).

I am uploading a .doc with embedded .jpgs, trying for the plainest  
vanilla I can find. I have stripped out most of the Word junk, too.

Any thoughts?
