I want well written and edited content. I do think prices will go down if the market has a chance to work. I'm not in the publishing business and I only know a little about it from participating in forums so I won't be surprised if I'm wrong. Well, a little bit surprised. :) If enough exclusive deals are made that competition doesn't have a chance to do it's thing then maybe prices will go up. In which case, I'm sure, so will piracy. I don't really care that much. I love to read and I don't mind paying for it as long as I have the money. Good books are worth paying for. I've never really concerned myself much with their cost. I'm far more concerned with the way publishers and sellers are building in inconvenience and limitations. The market will bring prices down in time. Digital books are new and there's a kind of gold-rush mentality, or so it seems. I'm not sure that's a bad thing for the present. It's probably helping to push the technology. > >Barry My bet with you [over a medium term of 15 - 25 years] is that the standard price of ebooks will be higher, not lower. However, it depends a) what youi consider an ebook to be, and b) whether you want to have choice of reasonably written and edited content or not.
