How can you change something already in print concerning someone sexual connotations? Is an author suppose to say "oh sorry I'll just sit right now right this second and make them all headro-sexual's just for you." Constructive criticism is not running down the author and their way of thinking If you were to go around trying to please every one all the time you would never succeed in doing anything else. When some complained about your book did you rewrite it for them? Some people do complain just for the sake of complaining, others do it to make trouble so they can sit back and laugh at what they have done. Some do it for the attention. It amazes me that you would think people like do not exist. I have seen for myself first hand at what some people will do to make others unhappy to make themselves happy. Or get attention and do it in public. So thanking them for their contacting you and being a fan seems like the simplest way of handling it. Not getting into a argument with the reader. That was what was meant by getting in a contest with a skunk. I just don't have time to argue with a reader. I've never complained to an author but should I ever chose to I would hope I d be taken a little more seriously. I wouldn't really expect an author to stop what he/she does because I complained but I'd sure like to think what I said was considered. I've been in audiobook forums that included authors, narrators and publishers for decades. I participated in discussions in rec.arts.books for many years. I didn't always agree with what writers and publishers had to say but I don't recall them acting abusive toward their readers. I wonder what's going on here. They want to get something going it makes them feel important. It's a, "OH look at me I got this author up set!" And when authors come back up set then they are sitting back laughing and having a great time for themselves. This is all new to me, I am just now writing my first story. But I know I would not bother getting into a pissing contest with a skunk. So say thank you for your comments. I appreciate hearing from my fans. -------Original Message------- From: auwg Date: 10/13/2010 4:23:02 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ebook-community] Re: I Started A Publishing Company – Now I Need Your Help --- In [email protected], "dtpollard947" <dtp940@...> wrote: > Some ask people to stop complaining about the economic > situation the country is in and create their own jobs. There are cavilers and there are cavaliers. Cavilers wail and complain but do nothing to help themselves. Cavaliers look for opportunities and fill them.
