I've never written a query letter.

Um... that question seems to indicate you've never visited my site.
That would seem to support my belief that there's little point in schmoozing with other authors.

Yup. Bio: "I was born at a very early age." Then some stuff happened and I went places and now I'm here and why are you reading this when there are hefty samples of my books one click away?

I stuck the 1st Place graphic I won in 2005 on the index page.
If that isn't enough to make them check out the samples, they can keep moving.

Um... well... actually... insofar as it applies to me, yes, it does.

Haven't done it yet, probably won't.

Not surprising. There are fun people in most any crowd.
But I don't schmooze with other authors for entertainment because I've found that talking shop doesn't entertain me.
Neither does borderline-arguing about the value of awards.
I said what I had to say about them.
If they aren't specifically geared toward ebook sales, I won't waste time with them.
