Some of it is error. For example... When Fictionwise books moved to B&N and
when Mobi titles moved to Amazon, the process turned ON books that had been
removed from sale.
Some of it is purposeful. For instance, we found a site that seemed legit.
They had the full and complete information on most of the books there, the
right price, the right information on publisher... But then we found a
couple of books that were clearly wrong. For instance, a free read of a
friend was selling there for $4.50. That wasn't legal, in anyone's book.
When we queried, we found my books were legally there, loaded by Ingrams.
Her free reads had been pirated by someone that claimed to be the publisher
and started the account. The publisher is now involved and will probably
pursue legal remedies.
