OH, yeah. Most definitely.
Can't say how many times a Google Alert for my name has turned up my titles in a pirate torrent or one of the pirate sites.
It would be great if there were a way to slip something truly evil into those stolen files.
At a DragonCon, one particularly obnoxious cretin bragged he'd got all of my titles with Limewire, then showed them to me in a folder full of author names. Within moments, my Dr.Pepper somehow managed to accidentally spill into his laptop while he was happily advising me there wasn't one damned thing I could do about piracy.
Half a dozen people around the table didn't see how it happened.
The author I'd stopped to talk with moved her roll of paper towels out of his reach under her table. She had to take them out of one unseen box, lift them over her lap, and put them into the other unseen box, so I think she might have been expressing an opinion of sorts by letting him see them at all. :)
