Re: discontinuation of the Microsoft Reader

Well, it provides another cautionary tale about purchasing ebooks with 
proprietary DRM systems and expecting to be able to read them in ten 
years' time.

But for anyone who is stuck, the Reader format can be cracked fairly 
easily with a little conversion program called -- I'll put a hyphen in 
this so it gets through the filters -- xxxxx.

Nope, didn't get through the filter. I was told not to allow cracking hints through.
On the other hand, since MS is dumping the format and thereby dumping ON anyone who bought ebooks in that format, it's only fair people should be informed to search for a possible work-around.
