Brenna's complaint and her solution make no sense. If there is no print version, there is no way to generate an actual page count. There is no objective standard of what counts as a page, and therefore, Amazon's guess is exactly as good as anyone else's guess.
You could take the same 50,000-word manuscript and lay it out in such a way as to have it correspond to 150 printed pages, 200 printed pages or 250 printed pages. Which page count would then be "correct"? Which one would be "wildly incorrect"?
Even how many words were in the document wouldn't be a fair indicator, because the book might contain illustrations that wouldn't show up in that count but would add heft.
Keep your thinking hats on, folks, instead of complaining hysterically to Amazon.
