If you mean a Fictionwise type store but run by us... EPIC actually
discussed that some years ago, but it was decided no one had time to run it,
maintain it, and organize it. And hiring people to do it for us just meant
we'd have terms we like in contract, but we'd still have to suck up all the
usual costs into overhead...and we'd have to compete against
already-established storefronts. Sigh... Does sound like a lovely idea,
though.

other shoe has dropped, I can only raise my idea again :-) .

Somehow I think small publishers must consider some form of joint sales, 
and note the power of a bigger platform. A ring, or set of rings, is one 
possibility; a joint sales or shopping basket to build buyer confidence; 
some sort of joint selling, without an actual link - perhaps an agreed 
version of affiliate; maybe an associate with a seal of quality. Perhaps 
more than one, or something else.
