I note that their is a typo in the name; it's Fairman, not Firman, but I
expect this is only a problem in this email, since searches would be
fruitless with the wrong name.

WorldCat only shows a few copies, all in the United States.

However, WorldCat is not a definitive list of libraries. I recall a few
years back, when a particular book by a New Zealand author jumped from 10
copies to over 60 -- because the New Zealand public libraries were added
to WorldCat. If a library is NOT on WorldCat, it might be worth trying to
checking their catalog directly.

I can suggest looking for the hole, not the peg. Try looking for other PSF
works, to see if you can identify either a collector or a collection that
might have the item. Don't skip over search results, since sometimes it's
a reference in a discussion forum that leads to an interesting result.

You can use this same idea for the publisher. According to this PW entry,
Vantage was still running in some form as late as December, 2012.

There might be details relating to who bought them a few years earlier,
which can lead to locating any remaining assets or inventory.

There is a Wikipedia entry, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vantage_Press>.
If you rewind the history on Wikipedia to the first entry, you will learn
that the Vantage Press webpage was at <http://www.vantagepress.com/>.

Although there is nothing at that site now, try the Wayback Machine at
<http://archive.org/>. A quick check shows that they have been archiving
the site several times a year since 1999. There might be references in
some of the early pages that could help you track down a lost cache of
books! There may be references to people or companies that are still
locatable.

You can likely enough leads to followup that you will have to decide how
much this is worth to you.
