William,
I don't know if you are asking a rhetorical question or if you are seeking information. In any event you can view one of my books by follow the link below. This book was written in Word and converted through the publishing process that Kindle provides. I also created the cover, but not with word. You can scan through the first 20% of the book by clicking on the 'Look Inside' feature on the book's page. I hope this helps.

Subjec t: [ebook-community] Advisability of doing an e-book in Word
Has anyone here even done or seen an e-book that was done in Word?
I am curious about the advisability of skipping over the conversion process and going straight to SmashWords or another company. I would suspect it would be cheaper, but would the final e-book look sufficiently professional?
