~~Pearsons rode the wave when educational publishing could hardly lose
money, and expected that to go on for ever. So it sold off its base -
The Fianncial Times and The Economist - and may now be drowning as
higher education declines. It will have to hope its publishing arm
thrives. Other publishers should take note of how easy it is for a
decision made when everything is rosy might be a little bit [Brit
understatement] problematic later.
