Some 3d printers will print a mix of low-melting-point
and high-melting-point voxels (plastic and wax),
so you take the object out of the printer and melt
the wax out to get the finished product.

You could also print a mix of water-soluble and
water-insoluble material, or use a different solvent,
or use a placeholder material that will react with
some other reagent after printing.
