I would like to update my site, but it appears the server's owner has
fucked with the settings. While I can log in, I can't upload files.
I'm sure it will be fixed shortly. Maybe.

One of the impending articles has a special place in my heart because
part of it was prompted by a discussion I had with a co-worker that
nearly came to blows. She ultimately walked away, flailing her arms and
yelling that she "couldn't discuss it any further."

She believes that education is a right guaranteed to every human,
functioning brain or not, whereas I question the purpose in "educating"
a teenager who flings his shit across the room when he's asked to count
to five.

Her arguments?

"Everyone has potential!" Not if you're 16 and bang your helmeted head
against the wall while you furiously jack off. Unless that is your
potential, and as entertaining as that is, it's not worth the hundreds
of thousands of dollars poured into your care.

"If you didn't do anything with your life, then your education would
have been wasted, too!" But I'm not retarded. It's obvious from a young
age whether someone has the ability to be educated. No one knows
whether a 6-year-old of average intelligence will go on to be a Nike
sweatband-wearing wannabe thug or the initiator of world peace, but if
your 6-year-old's greatest accomplishment to date is rolling over on his
own, psychic powers aren't needed to predict that he's going to graduate
at 21 with a "special little guy" award.

"Education is a right!" Says who? I don't recall any historical
documents referring to life, liberty and the pursuit of tax dollars to
pay for special education teachers to wipe your kid's ass. I'm sorry
that you're stuck with a kid you've deluded yourself into thinking
brings joy to the world with his epicanthal-fold innocence, but the $51
billion spent annually on special education could help kids whose IQs
are approaching the triple digits.

"Everyone has a purpose!" No, they don't. It's sweet that your
born-15-weeks-too-early-and-deprived-of-oxygen child makes you smile,
but as much as the cost of his upkeep is, get a fucking Lladro figure to
stare at. You'll get the same level of interaction and your investment
might appreciate with age.

I love arguing with that cow. She takes everything as a personal
affront, mostly because it is. She's the most bitter, joyless,
miserable woman I've met, and the depths of her regret drown everyone
with whom she comes into contact.

Everyone needs a co-worker like that.

And I need someone to redesign my site. Something simple. No Flash, no
graphics. Just a design that's easy to navigate. You'll get nothing
out of it.

LONDON: An Indian doctor from Jammu has unusually, controversially and
very publicly entered Britain's asylum and race relations debate by
refusing to treat 'foreigners' and refugees because they are
"time-consuming, annoying and speak languages hard to understand".

The announcement by Dr Vijayakar Abrol, 62, who qualified from Lucknow
Medical College before arriving in the UK nearly 40 years ago, has been
denounced as "xenopobic" by a leading health official.

This is thought to be the first time an Indian in Britain has attracted
the label for his conduct in public life.

More privately, Abrol's stark notice "No asylum-seekers" on the door of
his Birmingham clinic, has provoked surprise, a few sniggers and
comments about the "pot calling the kettle black" with Indians trying to
keep others out of the UK.

Abrol, who emphatically told TNN he was not racist, admitted people
might look at his brown skin and Indian origins and argue that "because
I came to Britain as an immigrant, I should be more sensitive to asylum
seekers".

Abrol's self-styled "zero-tolerance policy" on asylum-seekers comes
within 24 hours of Britain's upper house of Parliament rejecting a
controversial government bill to accommodate many of the UK's 70,000
annual asylum applicants in white, rural areas.

Now, Abrol is thought to have opened up a potentially explosive new
debate over an apartheid in health care provision even as Britain argues
about relegating refugee children to separate schools.

But the doctor, who insisted he was not racist or a brown sahib and not
an 'outsider' either, offered his own life as an example: "I am a Hindu,
my wife is a Christian from the West Indies, all my staff are Muslim
except for one English girl and my patients are mixed".

More controversially, he said it was white people who had flooded him
with a stream of congratulatory messages of support ever since he
announced "zero-tolerance".

He also said he could manage five languages to speak to patients –
Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, English and German, but found Kosovan and Albanian
refugees incomprehensible.

NEW ORLEANS -- An animal rights group has made David Duke the poster boy
for intolerance.

A picture of Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan leader, is on a billboard put
up by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in Shreveport
encouraging people not to drink milk.

Sporting the white mustache that has become the trademark for the "Got
Milk?" campaign, Duke's picture carries the caption: "Got (lactose)
intolerance? The white stuff ain't the right stuff."

"David Duke is the perfect milk-industry poster child since he's
identified by many as being intolerant," said PETA spokesman Bruce
Friedrich.

PETA did not get permission to use Duke's photograph, Friedrich said.

"It's a public domain photograph, but no one in their right mind
applauds David Duke and no one in their right mind should be drinking
milk," Friedrich said.

KENTUCKY - More than one-third of Boyd County High School's students
missed a day of school to protest a decision to let a gay-rights student
group meet on campus, the district superintendent said.

The students - 420 of the school's 990 students were not in school
Monday - will be counted as absent for the day, Superintendent Bill
Capehart said.

Most of the absent students were boycotting because of last week's vote
by the school's teacher-parent council on the Gay-Straight Alliance, Mr.
Capehart said.

The council's 3-2 vote was its third this year about the group. It
rejected the group's application twice before student organizers
contacted the American Civil Liberties Union, which sent a letter in
September to the council saying it was violating the federal Equal
Access Act by denying the alliance permission to meet at the school. The
act says if schools allow some extracurricular groups to meet at school,
it must allow all groups to do so.

Andrea Opell, 17, a senior from Rush, stayed out of school for part of
the morning to participate in the protest but later showed up because
she wanted to attend swim practice later in the day. "It's just quiet
and gloomy," Andrea said. "There's not a lot going on. Not a lot of cars
in the parking lot. Not a lot of people in the hallway."

She said it was unclear how many students stayed away because they
opposed the Gay-Straight Alliance and how many decided to just take a
day off, especially with another free day today because of the election.

But she said "parents are behind the kids 100 percent" and the boycott
could continue.

Jenny Reese, mother of Lena Reese, a 15-year-old sophomore who is a
member of the alliance, called the boycott ridiculous. "I just don't
think it's a good idea for parents to let their children stay home from
school," Ms. Reese said. "It doesn't set a good example for tolerance."

After the council's vote last week on the Gay-Straight Alliance, more
than 100 students walked out of school Wednesday, Mr. Capehart said. All
but 24 returned, he said. One student was arrested on charges of
destroying student property and harassing a teacher, he said.

CANADA - A businessman has been sentenced to a year in jail for staging
a sexual fantasy in which he hired someone to rob his store and tie him
up naked with an unsuspecting woman.

"To say that this is bizarre and unique is an understatement," said
Justice Gerald Allbright in sentencing Rosaire Roy.

Early last fall, Roy, 55, discussed a sexual fantasy of his with Tracy
Bannab, who gave police statements that were referred to extensively in
court.

Bannab said Roy told her he would pay her to stage a robbery at his
business. She was to come in masked and toting a pellet gun, then order
Roy and a 38-year-old female acquaintance of his to undress and get into
a sexual position.

She was then to tie them together in that position and leave, taking
with her the money from the till as compensation.

On Oct. 19, 2001, Bannab arrived at the store as planned, masked and
carrying the weapon. She ordered Roy and the woman to undress completely
and get into the position before tying them together.

She told police she attempted to calm the victim, who was clearly
frightened. She retrieved the money from the till and left.

The victim managed to free herself and Roy before calling the police.

At that point, she had no idea Roy himself had planned the robbery. Roy
did not want the victim to know of his role for fear of harming their
relationship, Crown prosecutor John Syrnick said in court.

"It was a cruel, insensitive thing to do to (the victim) and could leave
her with no other feeling other than humiliation," said Allbright.

Roy gave police a false statement. But police soon discovered the truth
and charged him.

Roy pleaded guilty to sexual assault and falsely reporting a crime.

MISSISSIPPI - Goodman Policeman Eddie Myers said he was sorry for the
hurt he caused his family and the family of Emma Horton.

"I put them through a lot over the last 25 months," Myers said Tuesday
at the Jackson office of his attorney, Chokwe Lumumba.

But Myers maintained he shot and killed Horton, Goodman's assistant
police chief and his sister-in-law because she came into his house and
wouldn't leave when he asked her to. He said she then reached for her
gun.

"I wasn't going to let her hurt me," Myers said.

Jurors set Myers free, though they could have convicted him of capital
murder, murder or manslaughter after hearing him testify last week that
he shot Horton in self-defense. Horton was armed, but her gun was found
strapped in its holster on her body.

Myers testified he first used a shotgun but, after the first shot, it
jammed and he then started using two .40-caliber handguns. Myers fired
36 shots, hitting Horton 14 times.

Horton's sister, Lauree Kirkwood, dismissed Myers' expression of sorrow
and said Horton's family is still trying to come to grips with the
verdict.

"Nobody believes what happened," Kirkwood said of Myers' self-defense
claim. "Who in their right mind could believe a person can shoot someone
14 times and that be self-defense."

Holmes County District Attorney James Powell III said Myers killed
Horton but is never going to be held responsible.

"This is a runaway jury and crazy verdict. I don't know what else to say
about this," he said.

Here you go, James. Enjoy. I'm sure you'll get feedback.

"James Pinkerton" <[email protected]>

Hey there! I've been to your site a lot, and I was wondering if you'd
like to do a link exchange. I’m a comedy writer with stuff up at
National Lampoon and Modern Humorist, and I have a new website I’m
trying to get people to called The Trailer Trash
(www.thetrailertrash.com). I offer weekly reviews on two new movie
trailers every week. I try to make the reviews kind of ranty and funny.

Anyway, since the site is kind of ranty, I was hoping you might throw me
a bone on your links page. Thanks if you can!
