Ground Rules for PMN

Salam all,

One of you recently asked us (the Admin Team) what the ground rules are.
Here they are.

Language:

No foul or offensive language is to be used on PMN.

Common respect and courtesy is expected.

Limiting the freedom of expression of others by use of intimidation or 
harassment will not be tolerated.

Absolutely no cyber-fatwas will be allowed;

(No suggestive comments or calling of names such as Mushrik, Kafir, Munafiq, 
etc. On PMN, everyone who considers him/herself a Muslim is a Muslim. nobody 
is a better Muslim than another, nobody is more Muslim than another and 
nobody becomes less of a Muslim for expressing their ideas or opinion)

Use of the list:

This is a discussion list and shall be used as such.

The list is open to all Muslims as well as others interested in relevant 
discussions, without discrimination of any type.

Absolutely no commercial messages are allowed.

Forwards:

Forwards of other messages and announcements are welcomed, as long as they 
follow these criteria:

They are part of a current discussion or are posted to start a new one.

They accompany a note from the sender explaining why it's of relevance to 
the list.

They are addressed to PMN and not part of a mass posting to several 
addressed and lists.

Items protected by copyright laws should be sent only by knowledge and 
consent of the owner. As this list is not moderated, the sender accepts any 
and all liability in this regard.


This list was drafted long ago and has been the official set of rules for 
PMN for the past few years.  I am not sure of the exact date it was put into 
effect though.
